All inspections are scheduled on Tuesdays and Thursdays, please call the Fire Department Office at 978-448-6333 to schedule an inspection appointment.

Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detector Inspections

All Groton residences are required to have smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors in their homes.  All homes that are being sold or transferred, must be inspected by the Fire Department to ensure that Smoke Detectors and Carbon Monoxide Detectors are properly installed and in working order.

Commercial Permits & Inspections

The Groton Fire Department is responsible for the following inspections: 

  • Underground and aboveground propane tanks 
  • Oil burner installation 
  • Blasting permits 
  • Quarterly Fire Safety Inspections for commercial buildings 
  • Storage of flammables and combustibles

 

NOTE: Wood/Pellet Stoves are not inspected by the Fire Dept, please contact the Bldg Dept at 978-448-1109

HOME RESALE INFORMATION

If you are planning on selling your home you will need to have your Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detectors Inspected.   Please call the Groton Fire Department at 978-448-6333 to setup an appointment.  Our inspections are typically held on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
